It’s too soon for Chelsea to be thinking about a Conte title win

A top four place is where this Chelsea side should be accepting next year. A top four finish should not be the be all and end all for Conte, either. Previously Abramovich has pulled the trigger on any manager who looks likely to succumb to the gravitational pull of the Europa League places, but this is different. The club has been at its lowest ebb. The club has lost its pull to the biggest stars and another change in manager may well be met with a significant rotation of playing staff.
The Stamford Bridge faithful are usually one of the most demanding fanbases, yet they cannot afford to be so ambitious on this occasion. The title cannot be ruled out by any means, but Conte will need time. A rebuilding process as significant as this will take more than one summer, more than one manager and a top four finish would be a brilliant step on the way to a Conte dynasty.
