The one bond that PAOK and Chelsea fans have over the Toumba Stadium and Stamford Bridge
You would rarely experience an atmosphere quite like the one that Chelsea had to endure when they travelled to PAOK to play in the Toumba Stadium, winning 1-0 .
In recent months the Greek Super League club have been known for a rather heated moment when their owner Ivan Savvidis stormed on to the pitch during a match with AEK Athens with a gun holstered on his belt.
However, the Thessaloniki club’s fans know how to build a ferocious setting inside their home ground and its one that you wouldn’t forget in a hurry.
While plans to knock down Stamford Bridge may have been put on hold for now, there is still the opportunity there and it could be that eventually in a few months the building work finally takes place.
Blues fans will have to endure some seasons away from Stamford Bridge should the plans finally go ahead, with the current stadium set to be knocked down to the studs and build upon the same ground.
And for PAOK fans this is something that they are going to have to deal with as well. There are currently plans in place for the Toumba Stadium to be dismantled and rebuilt in the same spot, meaning PAOK would be playing away from their home in a temporary location.
